Post length

By default, Iceshrimp has a maximum post length of 3000 characters. As you type there will be a counter on the post or reply screen showing how many remain.

The limit can be adjusted by your own server administrator.

Post length across the fediverse is generally not a problem. Other server types, for example Mastodon, only allow 500 characters. However, this is the typing limit for their users. If a user from Mastodon receives your post they can read it all, regardless that it is over their server limit. If they reply, they are restricted to their own servers limit.
